Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.58%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.58%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE), which rose 0.63% or 0.02 points to trade at 2.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 0.58% or 0.10 points to end at 17.20 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was up 0.55% or 0.04 points to 7.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which fell 2.51% or 0.36 points to trade at 13.96 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) declined 1.26% or 0.05 points to end at 3.77 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was down 1.15% or 0.20 points to 17.23.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for December delivery was down 2.19% or 1.73 to $77.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.34% or 1.77 to hit $73.79 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.47% or 12.60 to trade at $2,663.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 103.03.
