Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 0.18%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Tourism sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.18%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA), which rose 6.05% or 3.35 points to trade at 58.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS) added 4.45% or 3.15 points to end at 73.95 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) was up 3.94% or 2.45 points to 64.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Selcuk Ecza Deposu Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:SELEC), which fell 4.62% or 3.70 points to trade at 76.40 at the close. Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) declined 4.11% or 2.75 points to end at 64.20 and Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM) was down 4.01% or 0.17 points to 4.07.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 361 to 203 and 15 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.21% or 5.74 to $2,684.34 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.88% or 0.68 to hit $76.62 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.76 to trade at $80.25 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.05% to 35.49, while EUR/TRY rose 0.45% to 36.50.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 109.29.
