Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Information Services, Electronic Parts/Components and Semiconductor sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.12% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were ALi Corp (TW:3041), which rose 10.00% or 3.45 points to trade at 37.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Plotech Co Ltd (TW:6141) added 10.00% or 1.50 points to end at 16.50 and Taimide Tech Inc (TW:3645) was up 10.00% or 4.40 points to 48.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348), which fell 10.00% or 25.00 points to trade at 225.00 at the close. Compucase Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3032) declined 10.00% or 10.30 points to end at 92.70 and Huaku Development Co Ltd (TW:2548) was down 6.80% or 8.50 points to 116.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.07% or 0.05 to $70.65 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $73.86 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 3.90 to trade at $2,635.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.14% to 32.78, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 107.77.
