Spain stocks lower at close of trade; IBEX 35 down 0.23%

Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.23%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI), which rose 2.68% or 1.95 points to trade at 74.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) added 1.62% or 0.32 points to end at 20.08 and ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) was up 1.27% or 0.28 points to 22.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Indra A (BME:IDR), which fell 1.82% or 0.31 points to trade at 16.69 at the close. Ferrovial (BME:FER) declined 1.16% or 0.44 points to end at 37.34 and Iberdrola (BME:IBE) was down 1.00% or 0.14 points to 13.89.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 101 to 86 and 23 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 1.10 to $2,747.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.68% or 1.18 to hit $71.37 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.67% or 1.24 to trade at $75.62 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.06.
